Overwhelmed

Well it's very nearly two weeks since the release of Fortress of steel and everything is going really well - in fact it's exceeded expectations. Boosted by pre-orders the KIndle version went racing up the Amazon charts from the off and the ratings that have been coming in ever since have for the most part been very good. Then last week the book was released in both Paperback and Hardback and they look absolutely fantastic. Never thought I'd get to hold one of my books in Hardback so that's a real shot in the arm.

I've also designed and received the first in a whole raft of publicity merchandise. So far I've got large magnetic door magnets to affix to my car which hopefully people will look at as I drive around. I've also got a smaller one to affix to the boot so that on those occasions I get stuck in a traffic jam, the person behind me won't fail to notice it. Finally I've also bought a large sun screen for the car (just as the sun seems to have disappeared after 14 weeks of course) so whenever I park up I can leave that on full display. Will any of it work? Who knows. But if you don't try you never know.

Other than that I've been busily working away on book 4 in the series which is now up to around 34,000 words. I've got perhaps another 15,000 words o so planned in rough notes but I need to start seriously thinking about how I plan on ending this book. This really has been one where apart from the very vaguest of ideas, I've pretty much been making up as I go along. So far it's working and I'm very happy with how the story is developing.
