A new countdown

September already? How did that happen? I think apart from a lovely week exploring the glorious Derbyshire Peak District, my summer has pretty much been spent in my writing den, also known as my spare bedroom.

Work on book 4 in the Roman thriller series Legion of the damned is coming along nicely and I'm about 3/4 of the way through the first draft now. Took me ages to get going on this one, but ever since I passed the 40,000 word mark, the ideas haven't stopped flowing and writing has been a breeze. If only every day was like that. The last week or so, however, I've been busily working my way through the final edits for book, 2 Forests of death and have signed those off today. Can't wait to see how this one is received. The editing team at Sapere Books have done a wonderful job and I'm delighted with the finished product. This one is currently available for pre-order and is published on Kindle on Friday 19th September. The countdown has begun.

When I'm not writing I've been binge watching "Digging for Britain" and am thoroughly enjoying it especially you won't be surprised to hear, the episodes which focus on Roman digs. Some of the things they've uncovered have been utterly fascinating and I've a long list now of towns, museums and sites I want to visit for research.

But for now... it's back to book 4.
