Always learning

Not long to go now until Forests of death is published (19th September) and I can't wait to see how this one is received. I've also just learned that book 3 is scheduled to be published on the 23rd January 2026 which is exciting to hear. It also means that I better get my finger out and crack on with book 4! Actually, I'm really pleased with progress on that one - just passed the 65,000 word mark today so with the next couple of chapters already on my storyboard and just the exact ending to work out, I reckon I should have the first draft ready by the end of September. Then of course the real hard work begins in the editing process - first mine (probably two re-writes) and then whatever the talented editors at Sapere suggest.

Actually looking forward to the editing process more than usual for book 3 simply because I've learned so many useful facts about the Romans just from watching "Digging for Britain", which I hope to use to paint a more realistic picture of life back then.
