After a lovely week hiking the hills of the Derbyshire Peak District, it's back to work this week. I thought I lived in a lovely spot, and I do, but having never been to the Peak District before I was blown away by its beauty and the friendliness of the people there. I think my walking fitness app said we walked 47 kilometres in 6 days which might not sound like much to some people, but to a salad dodger like myself who spends his life sitting at the computer writing or reading somebody else's writing it was some achievement.
So today it's back to my desk and work - got a proofread from an author I've never worked with before and am really enjoying his book so far.
I've also got plenty of my own writing to do, so plan on proofreading for half a day and then working on book 4 in the Legion of the damned series for the remainder of the day. The quiet and solitude of the Peak District was perfect for thinking through storylines and plot holes, the solution for one of which came whilst getting buffeted by the wind at the top of Mam Tor.
Time to crack on...
