After the initial publication date of June 13th was postponed by 4 weeks, there is now just 5 days to go until the release of Fortress of steel on Kindle. It's a date I didn't think was ever going to come at one point, but these last 3 weeks have flown past thanks to an increase in proofreading work and a few last-minute re-writes on the manuscript. Now I've finally caught up with everything I can truly savour the excitement of a new book release. I also have the cover for book 2 which has a provisional publication date of September 25th, so I guess I'm going to be busily editing that one over the coming weeks too.

In other news, what a fantastic thing for that metal detectorist to have discovered 2 Roman swords dating back to the early 2nd or 3rd centuries at a detectorist rally in Willersey, Gloucestershire - it was apparently only his second such event. These have been donated to the Corinium Museum in Cirencester, somewhere else I'm going to have to add to my "must visit" list. Apparently archaeologists are now excavating an Iron Age settlement near where the swords were found. Fascinating stuff.
